Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 August 2026The short version
Listalista is a price book your household keeps together. The prices you record are stored on Listalista's servers so that everyone in your household sees the same book, and they are visible to your household and to nobody else.
That is the whole of it. The rest of this page fills in the detail, in plain words.
What Listalista keeps
The prices you record, each one dated and tied to the store, the product, the brand and the size you gave it.
One representative picture per item, where a lookup found one or you supplied one.
Your household and who is in it, so everyone in it sees the same book.
Your email address, once you sign in. It is what a one-time sign-in code is sent to.
Whether your household has Premium. Payments run through Stripe, so card details never reach Listalista.
You can start recording prices without an account. Until you sign in, what you record is held against an anonymous session rather than a person; signing in moves it onto your account and the anonymous session is discarded.
What it is used for
Only for running the app you asked for:
Keeping your price book and showing you what an item costs at each store you have recorded.
Signing you in with a one-time code.
Sharing the book with the people in your household.
Filling in a capture from a barcode and the photos you send.
Looking after a Premium subscription.
Listalista is not in the data business: nothing here is sold, and your price book is never used for advertising.
Services that help run Listalista
A few outside services do the parts Listalista does not do itself:
Open Food Facts, the free public product database, for looking a barcode up. Only the barcode digits are sent.
Anthropic, for reading the photos you send with a capture. The photos go over only when you ask for a lookup, the answer comes straight back to the form, and Listalista keeps neither the photos it sent nor the reply it got.
Stripe, for payments. Your card is entered with Stripe and stays with Stripe; all Listalista learns is whether the subscription is active.
An email provider, to deliver your one-time sign-in code.
Each of them handles what it receives under its own privacy policy. Data may also have to be handed over where the law requires it.
How long things are kept
Your account, your household and its price book stay for as long as you use Listalista. Ask for something to be removed and the matching data goes from our systems within 30 days. Photos sent over for a capture follow Anthropic's own terms, and Stripe keeps payment records for as long as its service and the law require.
Your choices
Deleting your account, your household or a single price you recorded is not something the app does on its own yet, so those are requests rather than buttons today. Write to contact@listalista.app and we will take care of it.
Depending on where you live you may also have the right to see, correct, export or delete the personal data held about you, and that right holds whatever the app can do for itself.
Sharing with your household
Inviting someone into your household lets them see the whole price book and add to it, so invite the people you actually shop with. What each of you records stays in the book after they leave, since the book belongs to the household rather than to the person who typed the price in.
The shared product list
Stores, products and brands are a list everyone shares, so no household has to re-enter what another one already named. What you paid is not shared that way: your prices belong to your household alone.
Children
Listalista is not made for children, and no personal data is knowingly kept about them. If you believe a child has sent us something, ask us to delete it and we will.
Keeping it safe
Access to our storage is restricted and everything the app sends travels over encrypted connections. No system anywhere is perfect, so absolute security is not something anyone can promise, but your data is treated with care.
Changes to this page
This page may change now and then. The date above says when it last did, and anything important will be announced in the app before it takes effect.
